Thanks
for your interest in RevUp K.C.!
What is RevUpKC? We are a grassroots political group in Kansas City, hoping to help revitalize and upgrade business development in the urban areas, especially downtown and midtown. Our aim is to establish a voting bloc of registered voters in the Greater Kansas City Area to encourage and assist independent businesses in getting established, and to help navigate through the red tape when the city gets in the way! This is a great time to live in Kansas City! The mayor and other city officials are discussing several ideas that could help make downtown vibrant again. The problem is, the ideas are all large-scale, designed to get media attention and cure what ails downtown in one single, magic elixir. The large-scale projects rally the public into believing the city is doing something to revitalize downtown, while at the same time many small independent businesses suffer because they are getting little or no help from the city. That is where we come in. Our goal is to convince city leaders that enough of the public wants independent businesses to succeed that they should better facilitate their growth and development. Rebuilding downtown will not happen overnight. Each small business owner that succeeds, however, draws more people to visit downtown, especially at night. The more people are drawn to downtown, the more businesses that will follow. If we can be patient, and help one business owner at a time, we will get that much closer to enjoying an exciting and vibrant downtown similar to what residents in Denver, St. Louis and Minneapolis enjoy (but with Kansas Citys own unique style). If you would like to become actively involved with RevUp K.C., we strongly encourage you to attend one of the committee meetings and contact any of the committee chairpersons.
